Good Shepherd is alive with a deep sea adventure this week. Children from 3 years to sixth grade are diving into friendship with God at VBS. On Monday kids learned that "God is a friend for real", sacrifice, and how sea creatures use sound to communicate and find things under water. The craft was decorating their own picture frames.
On Tuesday they learned that God is a friend that loves, how divers go up and down under water, and what it was like inside a whale as they heard about Jonah. They began decorating their t-shirts and decoated their own cupcakes.
On Wednesday we learned a story from the Book of Mark, when Jesus calmed the stormy sea. The children acted out the story, being in a boat with waves crashing and having to wake Jesus to save them. Tee shirt decorating continued in Coral Reef crafts. Our Bible Buddy Fisher the seal taught us that, “God is a friend we can trust.”
On Thursday we learned that God is a friend forever. Children saw how God's message stays forever as the watched paper with messages disolve in water while God's message stayed floating. Kids made jelly fish in crafts. We also learned that Jesus is with us through every stage of our life in Fintastic Finale.
On Friday kids learned that Good is a friend for everyone regardless if you big or small, old or young, or the color of your skin. The craft was sun catchers and kids helped Cheryl plan the VBS closing.
On Friday evening Families enjoyed a spaghetti dinner before heading to the sanctury for closing. parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles experinced what the children learned throughout VBS. After the program everyone enjoyed make you own ice cream sundaes in fellowship hall.
