The past week children from Good Shepherd and the community experienced an adventure at vacation Bible School. This year's theme was True North, Trusting Jesus in a Wild World.

Kids experienced amazing Bible adventures that taught them to trust Jesus when they wonder, feel alone, feel powerless, need hope, and when they need help. Bible lessons included learning about John baptizing Jesus and preparing the way, how we can always depend on God's love, and that Jesus is there when they are afraid. They also learned we can have hope in Jesus' death and resurection. The last day taught them that hope in Jesus and how he gave us the Great Commission.

Each evening began with an opening and ended with a closing that introduced and reinforced the Bible theme of the day as children danced and sang to awesome music. At Imagination Station, they studied the science behind God's wonderful creation. They learned how he formed the mountains, snow, Northern lights, glaciers, and us. They made compasses and learned how God is our compass and guide. In crafts they decorated picture frames that looked like a cabin, designed t-shirts using the True North theme, and painted the northern lights on compact discs to make a compass. These are things they will keep for years to remind them of the lessons they learned and the friends they made. Snacks included ice cream, marshmallows, cookes and other goodies based on the theme.

A special thank you to all the volunteers that worked to teach children to trust Jesus in our wild world and to all the donors that supported our program. You are all part of building the faith of children.
