Service of Word and Prayer

Our doors to our building may be closed for the safety of everyone but worship continues. Pastor Wes leads us in a video service of word and prayer from our homes. The video can be watched anytime you and your household is ready to worship and pray.

Follow along in your Bible or go to biblegateway.com to read along with the following passages:
First Reading – 1 Samuel 16:1-13
Psalm 23
Second Reading – Ephesians 5:8-14
Gospel of John 9:1-41

Feel free to share your comments or prayers.

  1. First I want to say thanks to Wes, Daren and the rest of the GSLC team for providing us with today’s service.

Today’s service and sermon was wonderful, a much needed break from all the COVID 19 saturated news. It is easy to forget that we are in the Lenten season.

Thank you for creating access to our church community and a church service right in our home. Please pass the word of this resource along to friends and family. Can’t wait until next Sunday!

    Keep the faith,
    Sally Ritchie

  2. Enjoyed today’s service. A timely message to provide the world with the word of our Lord and Savior. Thanks for making it all happen.

  3. Lois and I are moved by this service in our new home, while feeling regret and sympathy with our fellow Christians forced away from our places of worship by forces we fear.

We thank Pastor Wes, Darren, Guy, and all who made this moving program possible. Well done.

We pray for a speedy end to this pandemic and for the health and well-being of all, especially the members of Good Shepherd.

    Peace,

    Dick Myers

  4. Thanks to all who made this service possible. The message of reminding us to stay grounded in our faith and that our God is with us no matter what we are going through is so important. Praying for all of the world to get through this safely.
    Peace,
    Jane Hensley

  5. Thank you to Wes, Guy, and Daren and any others who assisted in bringing this message into our homes. This message of hope and the love of Christ are most welcome during this time of sickness, misinformation by some so-called religious persons and conspiracy theorists, and the uncertainty and fear shared by many. Yes, God’s Grace is truly Amazing. Thanks again for sharing that we, indeed, have an Awesome God. Stay safe all of you. Yours in Christ, Jim Parks

  6. I thank God for the gifts he has provided allowing us to bring worship to everyone during these difficult times. Thanks to Pastor Wes for preparing and leading a wonderful service. Thank you to Guy and Caela for helping with the equipment and set up. We plan to continue bringing worship to you online until we can be together to worship in person again. Look for another worship service next Sunday. I pray that God brings us all through this safely. I pray for a quick recovery for those that are ill. I also pray for all the medical personnel, first responders, and caretakers that are putting themselves at risk in order to care for others. Please stay safe in your homes and keep faith during these trying times.

  7. I am very grateful for this ministry, and being able to experience a worship service during these trying times. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. I look forward to the next one, and feel that my spirit has been uplifted by watching this. Please continue making this type of ministry available as long as possible.
Keeping everyone at Good Shepherd in my prayers.
    Peace,
    Melody Menges

  8. Blessings to all who made this service possible! May the light and love of the Lord pour out upon all who seek Him. Continue to pray for healthcare professionals and those for whom they provide care. Continue to be safe, love one another, and pray.

  9. Thank you for bringing this wonderful service into our home. I print the readings off the ELCA website on the Sundays I don’t make it to church. Seeing Pastor Wes and my home church was touching. I continue to pray for all of us at Good Shepherd and for all servants of the Lord where ever they may be.

  10. Thank you so much for this beautiful and comforting service at this difficult time. We just lost a wonderful friend of more than 50 years to the virus and his wife is still hospitalized. We appreciate your reassuring and words and the beautiful song. Thank you all for sharing and bringing God’s love and words of hope into our home.
