Journey of Lent

Sunday, March 5th is the first Sunday in the church season of Lent. traditionally, Lent focuses on strengthening  our faith and our relationship with God. All are welcome to join us for worship each Sunday morning at 8:30 am, and 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  Also each Sunday for an hour starting at 9:45 am, is a children’s based program called Family Faith Journey.  Children learn about God’s love and grow in their faith together with their family.

Starting Monday and through the week there will be questions raised for meditation based on the Bible readings heard during  Sunday worship.

Let us journey together through Lent.

Our Faith Journey after Christmas

The star over the new-born baby in a manger guided many travelers to learn about their lives and the world in which they lived.  What special discoveries lie ahead of us in our faith journey?   What holy and divine places, within and around us, will God’s Spirit show us? Come join us at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for opportunities to learn, celebrate, and proclaim the Good News revealed in God’s activity. Sunday Worship begins at 8:30 and 11:00 am.  Spiritual formation for all ages starting at 9:45 am: a Sunday School program  called Family Faith Journey; an adult class for seekers; and a religious instruction class for those preparing to affirm their baptismal vows through confirmation. God is at loose in the world. Let us come together to do what matters to God and  our neighbors.

Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser a Success

Youth of the congregation planning to attend a National Lutheran Youth Gathering raised over $500 towards their goal with last Sunday’s spaghetti dinner fund raiser. Special thanks to Thrivent Financial for a grant to help with the fund raiser supplies and providing t-shirts for our youth and advisors. Extra dinners were delivered to the residents of Ruth’s Place, an emergency shelter for homeless women.
