Palm Sunday Procession

Our annual Palm Sunday procession was led by children riding on a miniature horse. The procession included signing and waving palms as we took the message of Christ’s triumphant ride into Jerusalem through the streets of downtown Wilkes-Barre. The procession paused at times for readings and reflection. Reply to this post below with your experience and how our Palm Sunday Procession enriches your faith.

South Street Comes Alive with Fellowship Fest

Visitors coming to South Street yesterday found fun and entertainment at Good Shepherd’s Fellowship Fest. There were activities for all ages including crafts, face painting, and games. A variety musical entertainment was provided to entertain visitors along with a craft show, bake sale, and rummage sale. Of course what would a Lutheran street fair be without food. Visitors also found displays and a video presentation highlighting our ministries. A special thank you goes out to all who made fellowship fest possible.

VBS Finale

Vacation Bible School closed on Friday evening with our finale demonstrating the Bible stories children experienced throughout the week. Children learned how God calls us, God is strong, God forgives us, God saves us, and God protects us. Activities included Bible Adventures interactive drama, Imagination Station experiments, awesome crafts, and fun games. Of course what would our VBS finale be without getting the adults to experience the lessons the way the children learn them.

VBS is Here

Children learned how God calls us and that God is strong during our first two days of Vacation Bible School. The first day brought the story of Zebede and the calling of the disciples. On day two the children learned about Joshua and the wall of Jericho. Children will continue to participate in fun songs, interactive learning of bible stories through drama and experiments, crafts, and games throughout the rest of the week.
