Downtown Palm Sunday Procession

Come join others of Christian faith this Sunday, April 9th, as we observe Palm Sunday by walking through our neighborhood, singing, praying, and waving palm branches as we publicly witness the beginning of Holy Week. We’ll be gathering at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to begin our walk by 9:45 am. We’ll be walking 6 – 8 city blocks, returning to the church by 10:45 am. The procession will occur between our 8:30 and 11:00 am regular worship services. All are welcome.

Ministry Team Sunday

Sunday, February 26th, will be Ministry Team Sunday throughout the morning during and after each of our worship services, 8:30 am and 11:00 am.

Come hear how our ministry teams will enable us to better learn, celebrate, and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Identify your passion for what the church should be  doing in our place and at this time.

Stewardship / Sharing Sunday

This coming Sunday, October 2, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre will be celebrating “Sharing Sunday”.  Acknowledging that we have been blessed in so many ways by God, we come together to be inspired to be a blessing for others. Our 11 am worship will be highlighted will members’ faith testimonies of how God has given and strengthen their faith, as well as live music from “Making a Difference Ministry”. Please join us as we open ourselves up to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. With the Spirit’s guidance, we give of our time, talents, and treasure for the good of God’s creation.  God is good! All the time!

Church Picnic

Come and enjoy a day of fun, food, and fellowship on Sunday, July 31st, at Kirby Park, Wilkes-Barre. Outdoor, informal, casual worship begins at 12:00 noon in Pavilion #3 (next to the softball field and playground), picnic begins at 1:00 pm. Hamburgers and water will be provided by the church. You are welcome to bring something to share.

Bear Creek Day Camp
