A special interfaith prayer service to observe the anniversary of September 11th, will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 97 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, 12 Noon – 1:00 pm, on Monday, September 11, 2017.
Good Shepherd’s Faith Formation Ministry Team is sponsoring “Rally Day” at the church this coming Sunday starting at 9:45 am. All youth and their families are invited to attend this kick-off event for this year’s Family Faith Journey, our church’s Sunday School program. Special events include a Bible Maze and “Pie Guy”.
This program for youth entering 1st grade through 5th grade will be held today between 5 pm – 7 pm at Good Shepherd Church. Creative activities will be shared with the kids to help them explore their talents as children of God. A meal is included. It is free to members and the public.
Good Shepherd’s church picnic will be this Sunday, July 30 at Kirby Park pavilion #3. Worship will begin at noon under the pavilion followed by the picnic. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. Salads and deserts provided by members are welcome. Come join us for food, fun and fellowship.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Presents Incredible Creations Kids Club. A summer creative activities ministry for kids entering 1st through 5th grade.
Kids will explore their talents given by God through dance, drama, art, music, gardening and nature studies.

Good Shepherd’s worship service for Sunday, July 2nd will be at 9:30 am, and will be a kid’s friendly worship service. Holy Communion will be celebrated. All ages welcome!
VBS has arrived at Good Shepherd. Through interactive learning using the story of Noah children have learned how to Love one another and Trust in the Lord during the first two days. Fun activities include music, drama, crafts, games, and snacks. Click here to see photos of VBS in action. It’s not too late for kids 3 years to 6th grade to join in the fun and learning. VBS continues 9:am to noon through Friday, June 23rd.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will celebrate Pentecost Sunday with three morning Holy Communion worship services: 8:30 am, 9:45 am, and 11:00 am. During the 11:00 am service two of our youth, who have completed their three years of confirmation instruction, will be confirmed as full members of our church through Affirmation of their Baptism. The 9:45 am service is a casual, kid’s friendly service for all ages. It is a part of our ongoing Family Faith Journey worship series. Come and celebrate youth who are growing in their faith. Wear red to acknowledge the living Spirit of God in our midst. Receive the free gift of the Holy Spirit into your life. All are welcome.
An Ecumenical Prayer Service will be held at 12 Noon, on Thursday, May 25, at the First Presbyterian Church, on the corner of S. Franklin St. and W. Northampton St. in downtown Wilkes-Barre. Come share in the oneness of Christ. All are welcome.
