Help Youth Tackle Hunger

Good Shepherd’s youth are asking for your help to fight hunger in our community. They are collecting canned food to be donated to the CEO Weinberg Food Bank that serves our local community. They will also collecting cash donations to support Meals on Wheels.

Souper Bowl of Caring began in 1990 with a youth group prayer – “Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, let us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.” That simple prayer grew into a nationwide movement of youth collecting food and donations for local communities.

Help our youth tackle hunger in our community. Please bring canned goods to church and place them in the Souper Bowl box located in the narthex anytime through February 2nd. Youth will also have soup pots in the back of the church. We ask those attending services to place at least one dollar to help the fight against hunger. Donations can also be mailed to the church office or placed in a green offering envelope marked “Souper Bowl”.
